Questions about the BUS Grant
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK government grant programme that provides homeowners in England and Wales with up to £9,000 towards a low-carbon heating system — typically an air source or ground source heat pump. There is no income limit; the grant is available to most eligible owner-occupiers.
You can receive up to £9,000 for an air source or ground source heat pump, or £2,500 for a biomass boiler. The grant is applied directly to your installation cost – it’s deducted from your invoice, not paid to you as cash.
IGNI applies for the grant on your behalf. As an MCS-certified installer, we’re authorised to submit BUS applications directly through Ofgem. You don’t need to deal with any government forms – we handle it all and simply deduct the grant from your invoice.!
